Anna holds a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Plant Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The University of Queensland. Her PhD research investigated the biochemistry of amino acid biosynthesis pathways during grape berry ripening. On completion of her PhD, Anna spent several years as a researcher at the Max-Planck Institute for Biochemistry in the Laboratory of Professor Ulrich Hartl in Munich, Germany. Her postdoctoral research included the in vivo and in vitro study of protein folding and molecular chaperone function in bacteria and mammals. Anna brings advanced technical expertise to the biotechnology team in these technology fields.
Anna has extensive experience prosecuting patent applications before the Australian and New Zealand Patent Offices in a variety of technology fields. Some areas of interest include molecular biology, cell biology and enzymology, including protein expression, purification and analysis. Other areas of expertise include various immunological based techniques, proteome analysis, plant tissue culture, genetic transformation and RNA and DNA manipulation and analysis. Anna also has experience drafting patent specifications for domestic clients in a number of these fields.
During her research, Anna published a number of articles in a various journals, including Plant Physiology, the Journal of Biological Chemistry, the Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research and Cell.
