Bernard holds a Bachelor of Science in the fields of chemistry and genetics, and has over 15 years experience in the patent arena. Prior to joining Pizzeys, Bernard was a senior examiner at the Australian Patent Office, during which time he gained a detailed understanding of Patent Office procedure, including section specific practices. As such, Bernard provides valuable insight into the workings of the Patent Office to the Pizzeys team. Bernard has substantial experience prosecuting patent applications before the Australian and New Zealand Patent Offices in the fields of pharmaceutical chemistry, general chemistry and biotechnology.
Bernard also holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). Through his MBA studies, Bernard has developed a particular interest in helping his clients to develop intellectual property portfolios that best serve their commercial needs and interests.
