Peer has a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of the Witwatersrand and studied a Diploma in Computer Science through the University of South Africa.  Peer went on to complete a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Witwatersrand as well as Masters of Laws from both Nottingham and Melbourne Universities.

Prior to joining the firm, Peer worked for one of the larger patent and trade mark firms in Australian which he joined after working in Europe (London and Luxembourg) for 15 years.  Peer is also a qualified British and European patent attorney.  Having practiced in different jurisdictions brings a nuanced perspective to practice as an Australian patent attorney, particularly in the field of computer enabled inventions where the Australian patentability exclusions are based on UK and European case law.

Peer brings over 20 years of experience to the firm having drafted and prosecuted patents in many jurisdictions across the World, and has extensive experience in the enforcement aspects too.  Peer’s technical expertise lies in computer-related inventions, telecommunications, medical devices, applied physics, semiconductor inventions, sensor technology, renewable energy and engineering applications.
